ACS CATL member Ive Hermans (University of Wisconsin-Madison) was honored with the Ipatieff Prize at the 2019 Spring ACS National Meeting in Orlando, Florida. The award recognizes the outstanding chemical experimental work in the field of catalysis or high pressure, carried out by an individual of any nationality who is not over 40 years of age and is awarded once every three years.


In addition to the prize, there was a two-day symposium organized by Carlos Carerro (Auburn University) on heterogeneous catalysis.


Tobin Marks of Northwestern sponsored the Ipatieff Prize.
